Grant Description

Current knowledge gap in medical school curriculum is evident in the setting of increasing patient inquiries about regenerative medicine options. There is a paucity of physicians adequately trained in regenerative principles and practices, necessitating earlier and systematic introduction to this transdisciplinary field that imposes a novel lexicon and new know‐how. This proposal renewal aims to longitudinally integrate regenerative medicine principles across all Minnesota medical school curriculum by 2025 (i.e., regenerative medicine lexicon, organ block‐specific lectures, patient simulation, clinical elective and research scholarship program) with the goal to train over 1000 medical students in Minnesota by 2025; a first‐of‐its‐kind in the nation, preparing the next‐generation workforce to address unmet patient needs through regenerative sciences.
