Grant Description

Our ultimate goal is to bring our chondrocyte product, harvested from human induced pluripotent cell derived multi tissue organoids, into human clinical applications in cartilage injury repair. The goal of the studies in this proposal is to assess our chondrocyte product in a translationally relevant large animal model of cartilage injury. If successfully completed, the proposed study will provide proof-of-concept data on the clinical utility of our human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived chondrocytes product, and by doing so, lay the foundation for an off-the-shelf, economically feasible treatment for focal cartilage defects.
